Rusted Rail is proud to announce the release of a 6-track 3inch extended player by Irish avant-folksters The Driftwood Manor called "Dominican Black Abbey". Driftwood Manor mainstay Eddie Keenan worked with a number of long-time collaborators including co-producer Keith Wallace to create an EP which features fiddle player Neil Fitzgibbon, vocalist Annemarie Deacy and guitarist Bryan Higgins making their marks on the recordings. After a drunken conversation about various musical styles and their similarities, Keenan decided to collaborate with Bryan Higgins of Galway doom metal merchants Rites on the new recording, adding some darker edges as well as light to a number of the songs, while Galway composer Annemarie Deacy (formerly of local legends Mirakil Whip) also added her vocal talents to the fray. The lyrics to the songs emerged from an experiment that Keenan was carrying out with a dream journal, recording the stranger elements of his unconscious dream states and interpreting them into the songs. This 3" EP is housed in a hand-assembled and hand-stamped card sleeve featuring a cover photo by Sarah Grimes.

Recorded between October 2008 and May of 2009, The album took in a considerable cast of long-time collaborators, with Driftwood Manor lynchpin Eddie Keenan working closely with friends from across the spectrum of the Irish folk and underground scene. United Bible Studies students Gavin Prior, David Colohan and Vicky Langan all added their talents with Prior in particular working closely with Keenan and co-Producer Steve Fanagan to help shape the sound of the album. Initially released as a limited edition cdr on French label Ruralfaune in March of 2010, The Driftwood Manor have crafted their own brand of warm and earthy music which weaves strands of apocalyptic appalachia, psychedelic folk and Irish trad into a rich sonic tapestry. This CD is housed in a hand-assembled and hand-stamped recycled card sleeve, bound with twine.

Also Available: Rusted Rail is proud to announce the release of the "Holy Ghost" EP by the Irish avant-folk project The Driftwood Manor. For this six- track extended player The Driftwood Manor (based around lynchpin Eddie Keenan) have crafted their own brand of apocalyptic appalachia. For "Holy Ghost", Keenan worked with a number of long-time collaborators including co-producer Steve Fanagan to create an EP which takes on his fascination with the darker side of American folk and its relation to Irish traditional music. Although initially intended to be an incredibly stark record with little instrumentation, the songs took on new layers of skin over the course of the winter months during which it was recorded. After adding a plethora of instruments in Steve Fanagan's home studio, Keenan called in Bean Dolan (of Resurrection Fern), Fiddle player Neil Fitzgibbon and vocalist Anne Marie Hynes to add their own touch to proceedings. This 3" EP is housed in a hand-assembled and hand-stamped card sleeve, featuring a cover shot by labelmate Yawning Chasm
